New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy delivered his first budget address to a joint session of the Legislature in Trenton today. Murphy’s word of the day was “investment.” Investment in NJ TRANSIT, statewide Pre-K, community college, gun violence research, and more. The big question is whether the support for Murphy’s proposal for funding these priorities – namely millionaires’ tax, marijuana and increased sales tax – will materialize in the Legislature.
