Senator Jim Whelan (1948-2017)

New Jersey lost a true statesman yesterday with the passing of State Senator Jim Whelan.  Whelan, who was preparing to retire from the Senate at the end of this year, served in the Legislature since 2006 and before that as Mayor of Atlantic City.  He was an honest, credible, no-nonsense guy, a good friend and devoted to his family.  He will be sorely missed.  We’re keeping his wife Kathy and the entire Whelan family in our thoughts and prayers.
